Who´s who?

Our Chaplain, Anne Brown, was licensed on the 24th September 2023 by the Archdeacon of Gibraltar, the Venerable David Waller.

The Revd. Canon Anne Brown is our Chaplain and leads the worship team here in Fuerteventura. She was previously responsible for the North Atlanic Group of Churches in Cornwall, and together with husband Chris has visited the island over many years for holidays.

Anne is assisted by a number of licensed clergy and lay ministers:

The Revd. Bob Horrocks is the former Chaplain to Fuerteventura, now retired and living permanently in Fuerteventura together with the Revd. Judie Horrocks (See below).

The Revd. Judie Horrocks moved to the island when her husband Bob was the Chaplain, and assisted and lead services. She is now retired and living permanently in Fuerteventura.

The Revd. Brian Evans-Smith is a retired Priest from the Isle of Man, where he lives with his Wife, Mary. Fuerteventura is their favorite holiday location and during our interregnum, they spent 5 months here, assisting with our Services.

The Revd. Elsie Blair-Chappell is Assistant Priest at St. Martin in the Bull Ring, the Parish Church of Birmingham and also Chaplain to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Together with husband Stephen, they kindly spent a month here during the interregnum.

Ruth Brough is our Licensed Lay Reader, she completed her training here in Fuerteventura. She prepares our weekly services, leads services, preaches and is licensed to conduct funerals. She is resident on the island with husband Derek.

We have three Congregational Worship Leaders who assist in leading worship: Graham Maclean, Lynne Angus, and Yvonne Thompson. 

We have a Chaplaincy Council which meets at various times of the year. Our current churchwardens are John Vine and Graham Maclean.
