We are a Church of England (Anglican) Chaplaincy serving the island of Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands. We are part of the Diocese in Europe.
Our first ever resident chaplain arrived in December 2016. The Revd Bob Horrocks moved here from being the Team Rector in the Seven Saints Team in Bolton in the Diocese of Manchester, and was officially licensed as our chaplain at a service on Friday 10 February 2017.
Some of us knew Bob from the time he spent here during his sabbatical in 2014 when he took the services over 9 weeks.
His role as Chaplain is a pioneering one, so he will have responsibility for growing the church as well as planting others across the island. In October 2017 we planted our first new church in El Cotillo
His wife Judie is also a priest and has permission to officiate so she will is able to work alongside him.
They have two adult sons: Jonny, who lives in Greater Manchester, and David, who is married to Kate and lives in America.
We also have two church wardens and a Chaplaincy Council which meets at various times of the year.
Penny Melville, Lynne Angus & Yvonne Thompson are our Congregational Worship Leaders
We also have a trainee Lay Reader, Ruth Brough
Frank and June Boughtflower are our current wardens
